ROOTED in place,
history, and identity
For readers who care about where stories come from.
Shawmut Peninsula Press is an independent literary press publishing four to six carefully selected books each year, including literary fiction and narrative nonfiction shaped by place, history, and identity.
Our work centers on history, memory, fiction, and cultural heritage storytelling —books that explore community, belonging, reinvention, and the lived experiences that shape cities and generations.
Many of our titles reflect a deep respect for cultural memory, a commitment to documenting underrepresented histories, and the belief that stories of place are ultimately stories about people.
We publish books that preserve, illuminate, and connect.
